OPPO Reno12 and Reno12 Pro, Launched in Singapore

On June 27, 2024, OPPO Singapore launched two new AI Phones, the OPPO Reno12 and OPPO Reno12 Pro.

These models introduce a suite of industry-leading GenAI features aimed at enhancing productivity and creativity. The release marks a significant milestone in the OPPO Reno Series, highlighting OPPO's commitment to accelerating the adoption of AI Phones.

OPPO Reno12 Series Overview

Both the OPPO Reno12 and Reno12 Pro feature a Futuristic Fluid Design and High-Strength Alloy Framework. This design not only creates a stunning look but also ensures the most robust design in the Reno Series, offering enhanced protection against drops, pressure, and water. The models are powered by the new 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy For Reno mobile platform, developed exclusively by MediaTek and OPPO. This platform ensures exceptional power efficiency. Coupled with OPPO's 80W SUPERVOOCTM Flash Charge technology and the highest energy density 5,000mAh battery in Reno Series history, these phones promise ultra-long battery life, lightning-fast charging, and up to four years of optimal battery lifespan.

GenAI Features

Earlier this year, OPPO committed to bringing AI capabilities to a broader audience beyond high-end flagship smartphones. As part of this effort, OPPO has partnered with Google, Microsoft, MediaTek, Qualcomm, and others to accelerate the arrival of a new generation of AI Phones.

AI Photo Enhancements

The OPPO Reno12 and Reno12 Pro come with a suite of breakthrough GenAI features for everyday use. The updated AI Eraser allows users to remove unwanted people and objects from photos with a simple tap. AI Clear Face enhances group photos by performing high-definition restoration of details like facial contour, hair, and eyebrows. AI Best Face can reopen closed eyes in photos, ensuring no group shot goes to waste.

AI Studio

AI Studio can create digital avatars or artistic portrait styles from a single user photo. Users can reimagine themselves in various scenarios, leveraging the new GenAI capabilities.

AI Toolbox

Built on the Google Gemini large language model (LLM), AI Toolbox leverages powerful recognition capabilities to recommend AI features based on the content displayed on the screen. This includes quick social media content generation or content summaries for lengthy articles.

AI Recording Summary

The Recording app now features an AI Recording Summary tool that intelligently extracts text summaries from voice records and organizes them into notes. This includes details such as to-do lists, times, locations, and other relevant information for improved readability.

Sleek and Solid Design

The OPPO Reno12 and Reno12 Pro feature a bold design centered around a space-age silver exterior. The rear glass panel of both models is crafted with OPPO's Fluid Ripple Texture, creating a 3D-like sensation of rippling water. This design maintains the mirror-smooth texture and feel that has become a hallmark of the Reno Series.

The Reno12 is available in Astro Silver and Matte Brown with a rich cocoa hue and a fingerprint-free finish. The Reno12 Pro, on the other hand, is available in Nebula Silver and Space Brown with a two-tone matte-gloss design, separated by a chic metallic ribbon running horizontally across the back of the phone.

The OPPO Reno12 Pro features the new Infinite View Screen, a significant evolution in display technology for the Reno Series. The OPPO Reno12 and Reno12 Pro are powered by the custom-optimized 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy For Reno mobile platform. This octa-core platform, developed in collaboration with MediaTek, ensures exceptional power efficiency. The updated ColorOS Trinity Engine uses AI models to allocate SoC resources, achieving lower power consumption while ensuring system stability and smoothness.

RAM and Storage

The RAM-Vita engine enhances RAM utilization to accelerate app launch speeds and switches, keeping active background apps running smoothly. OPPO's RAM Expansion converts 12GB of storage into temporary RAM for an extra boost of smoothness. The ROM-Vita engine performs lossless compression on infrequently used apps and manages duplicate files, increasing storage space and read/write speeds.

Battery and Charging

The highest energy density 5,000mAh battery on the Reno12 Series provides extended battery life and over four years of optimal battery condition. Both models support OPPO's 80W SUPERVOOCTM Flash Charge, enabling a charge from 1% to 32% in just ten minutes and a full charge in 46 minutes.

Connectivity

The latest generation of OPPO's proprietary AI LinkBoost technology features nine individual antennas arranged in a 360° surround architecture. AI LinkBoost boosts signal reception and optimizes network selection using an AI model. BeaconLink, a new feature, enables communications at a distance of up to 200 meters without network coverage, ideal for emergency situations.
